Focus on Employee Welfare: New Workforce Programs of BMW

BMW, one of the most popular carmakers in the US, has started two new workforce programs and hiring professionals. Brian Harris BMW, a leading Louisiana BMW car dealer in Baton Rouge, feels the new efforts will support BMW’s commitment through sustainable growth in its South Carolina plant. BMW will employ engineers, IT professionals and Production Management associates.  The workforce program includes a BMW Scholars program and a $5 million Associate Family Health Center.

BMW has entered into a partnership deal with three technical colleges for the BMW Scholars program that aims at giving work experience to students. Those interested in taking up a career in skilled manufacturing will get the real benefits of this program. They can work at the plant for at least 20 hours a week besides attending full-time classes and receiving book assistance. The program will help them to take up a career in related fields too. Along with a degree, the BMW Scholars may have an opportunity to start a career with BMW. Brian Harris BMW, known for Baton Rouge BMW cars and Louisiana used cars, feels the BMW Scholars program will help sustain the future of BMW and skilled manufacturing in South Carolina.

As a gesture of its commitment to its employees, BMW will start an Associate Family Center which will have work-class health care facilities. The center will meet the health care needs of all BMW Associates, eligible retirees and their dependants. Conceived as whole new option in employees’ overall healthcare management, the center will provide health care education, early detection and prevention of diseases.
